Earley St. Peter's Remembers

11th November 2014

Remembrance Day at Earley St Peter’s was marked with a whole school gathering of Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils and staff in the hall where we were able to reflect and remember those who have fought in the wars, particularly the First World War as it is the 100th centenary this year.

We talked about the wooden plaque in our school hall which commemorates the boys from Earley St Peter’s who lost their lives in World War 1 and our Year 5 children visited St Peter’s cemetery to find the graves of the soldiers who died in the First World War and placed wooden crosses on them. We are fortunate to have so much local history on our doorstep.
