Progress, progress, progress!
At Earley St Peter’s all members of staff are committed to ensuring that every single child makes the best progress they can and as a team, we work hard to optimise progress for all children. We have robust assessment processes in place and every half term Pupil Progress meetings are held where the Leadership team meets with every class teacher and we discuss the progress of every child in the school. We review their progress and set challenging targets. We also identify strategies to facilitate further support that may be needed to enable each child to meet his/her targets. These strategies will include a range of approaches - booster/individual support, extension/enrichment sessions, homework club, nurture groups, positive choices programme, art therapy, learning buddies and learning interventions.
These robust processes have enabled all year groups in Key Stage 1 and 2 to make at least good progress in reading, writing and maths.
Primary School Progress Measures
In 2016 the DfE introduced new end of Y6 tests which assess the new curriculum launched in 2014. The results are now published as scaled scores rather than levels. These scaled scores are used to calculate the progress measures of a Primary School.
Please find below an information booklet from the DfE explaining this in more detail.
You can view the Department for Education's School Performance Tables for a comprehensive overview of our school's performance by visiting the DfE website.
Ofsted School Data Dashboard
School Data Dashboard is produced by Ofsted as a summary of how a school has performed at the end of Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. It compares all schools nationally and schools of similar prior attainment. It covers the school's context, results, progress and pupil attendance. The data is split into quintiles: five sections which each contain 20% of data. The best schools will be in the highest quintile; this means they are in the top 20% of schools nationally. You can view every school's Data Dashboard on the Ofsted website.
