Sports Premium Funding

PE and Sports Premium Funding is allocated to schools by the Government to support the provision on PE and Sport in schools. Each school has freedom to choose how they will spend the money. Earley St Peter’s allocation for 2014/15 was £10,075.

How has the funding been spent at Earley St Peter’s?

During the academic year 2014/15, we used this additional funding to support learning and enhance provision and outcomes for children in the following ways:

  • Providing specialist sports coaching for KS2 pupils

  • Enhancing provision through tournaments, competitions and PE events

  • Employing a PE Teaching Assistant to support PE lessons in school and break/lunch time PE/Sport activities

  • Funding a proportion of the swimming provision in school

  • Purchasing of new sports kits for teams

What impact has PE and Sports Funding had at Earley St Peter’s?

  • Improved range of provision from sports coach

  • Increased number of pupils participating in PE and Sporting activities

  • Sense of pride and belonging when the new kit has been worn at tournaments

  • improved progress in swimming skills by pupils

How does the school plan to spend funding in the future?

We received a new allocation of £10,065 for the academic year 2015/16 and the school plans to continue to allocate the funding on the aspects identified above.
